Label:
A wooden dance wand, with a cylindrical head at the top. It is decorated with carved geometric designs and coloured with red, blue and black. It has a palm fibre fringe tied in the middle. It is said to be used in dances and is known as "lougorp/gub/lougort" by the Meriam people. It was collected for the Museum by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907. (56x7.0 cm.)
