Label:
A wooden dance harpoon with a carved bulbous pointed head. The butt is decorated with cassowary feathers and other feathers imported from New Guinea, attached with string. It is said to be used in dances and is known as "wap/kap wap" by the Meriam people. It was collected for the Museum by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907.
