A hardwood dance harpoon, decorated with a carved miniature dugong head and incisional designs on the shaft, in-filled with traces of white pigment. It is said to be used in dances and is known as "wap/kap wap" by the Meriam people. It was collected for the Museum by C.Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907. (29cm.)
