- A hardwood spear-thrower with a peg attached to it with plant fibre and resin. The Melo shell is missing. This spear-thrower - the Cape York Peninsula type - was not used on Mer (Murray) or other islands of the East Torres Strait, but was probably obtained by exchange. It is said to be called a "kobai." It was collected for the Museum by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907. (L: 79cm)
