Label:
A two-handled basket made with twilled pandanus strips. It has an elliptical rim made from cane stiffening. It is said to be used to carry and hold a stone dance spinning-top. It is also known as a "kolap epei" by the Meriam people. It was collected in the Murray Islands, East Torres Straits in 1907 by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch for the Museum.
