A headdress made of cassowary feathers, attached to a band made of four rows of string. It is said to be worn by men during war dances. It is called "esam" and "samera" by the Meriam people. It was collected for the Museum by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907. (24x15cm.)
