A headdress made of cassowary feathers attached to a plaited and woven band, decorated with stripes of red and white ochre. It is said to be worn by men during war dances and is called both "esam" and "samera" by the Meriam people. It was collected by C. Hedley and A.R.McCulloch in 1907. (69x30cm)
