Label:
Two sets of leglets made of plaited coconut roots. Each set comprises six and seven separated undecorated circles. They are said to be worn by men and women around the leg, below the knee, as adornment during dances and ceremonies. They are known as "maka maka" and "makamak" by the Meriam people. They were collected by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907.
