Label:
An arm ornament, made of thin loops of bamboo strips with coloured wool tufts attached for decoration and red cotton for binding it together. It is said to be used in dances and ceremonies, attached to an armguard. It is known as "ool/tagelu" by the Meriam people. It was collected in the Murray Islands, Torres Straits, in 1907 by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch. (64x11cm)
