Label:
A rattle made from goa nuts and "matchbox" beans, cut open and strung on a plaited, palm-fibre strap. Tufts of coloured wool are attached for decoration. It is said to be worn during dancing, usually attached to an arm guard. It is called "goa sirip" by the Meriam people. It was collected by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907. (176x14cm)
