Label:
A rattle made from "matchbox" beans, cut open and strung on a plaited palm fibre strap. It is said to be worn during dancing, attached to a dance gauntlet. Tufts of coloured cloth are attached for decoration. It is called "goa sirip" by the Meriam people. It was collected by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907. (16x10cm)
