Label:
A Conus leopardus shell breast ornament, coloured with red ochre, with holes drilled in it for a cord to be threaded through for hanging. It is said to be worn by women as a sign of engagement or marriage. It is called "nagarr/0/wauri o" by the Meriam people. It was collected for the Museum by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907.
