A dance belt, made of a strap of plaited coconut root, hung with dogs' teeth. It is said to be worn primarily by married women for dances and ceremonies. It is know as "seserig" by the Meriam people. It was collected on Mer, Murray Islands, East Torres Straits in 1907 by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch. (162x4.5cm.)
