A shell knife made from unmodified bivalves Polymesoda arosa and Asaphis violuscens shells. It was imported from New Guinea. They are said to be used for various cutting tasks and known as "kaip" by the Meriam people. It was collected by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907 for the Museum.
